Bill Sluis
Journalism Professor

William Sluis, who teaches Journalism 101 at Prairie State College, is a veteran of more than 40 years in Chicago newspapers. In his most recent assignments at the Chicago Tribune, he was an assistant business editor, real estate editor and columnist. For 18 years, he wrote a weekly column about Chicago area business, focusing on economic forecasts. He also wrote numerous analysis stories about the stock market, personal finance and real estate. In addition to Prairie State, he has taught journalism at St. Xavier University in Chicago. He lives in Mokena and spends his free time doing volunteer work, singing in a church choir and playing golf.
