Along with faculty partiipation, the Label us Able student organizations plan and implement activities, with the help of Student Life.

Some activities that have included students with disabilities are:

  • United Way Fundraising Annual event
  • Fashion shows
  • Walk of Hope
  • Relay for Life
  • Phi Theta Kappa service projects
  • Black Student Union events and service projects
  • All Latin Alliance service projects
  • Label us Able events and service projects

Civic Engagement Center

The Center offers space on PSC's campus to four community-based organizations:

The purpose of the Center is to connect these organizations with our students, faculty and staff and provide volunteer opportunities for students and employees who want to make a difference in their community.

A brand new service learning opportunity will be available to PSC students through the Center for Multi-Cultural Communities beginning in the Spring 2009 semester. Opportunities will be available for students to act as Mystery Shoppers to the various retail and restaurants in the Southland area. This program is designed to compare and contrast services provided to different ethnic and age groups. More details to come.

For more informaiton about performing service learning with any of these groups, please contact awinters@prairiestate.edu.
