The Office of Career Development Services provides students and alumni with individual support services, including workshops, on-campus company visits and job fairs. Faculty are supported with in-class presentations on various job-readiness topics, resources for company speakers and internship contacts.
Services provided for students include
- Résumé critiques and writing assistance
- Workshops on the job search process
- Interview coaching
- Professional dress seminars
- On-campus company visits throughout the year
- Two job fairs held each year
Career Development Services is proud to be a member of www.ccJobNet.com, a consortium of 12 community colleges’ career development and placement offices in northern Illinois. These colleges have a joint Web site in partnership with The Daily Herald. This Web site is free to both job seekers and employers and consists of two easy-to-use parts:
- Employers can post a position or internship that can be viewed by up to all 12 colleges. They can contact job seekers directly via e-mail.
- Job seekers can register online and have 24-hour access to the Web site. Job seekers can search for positions or internships by location, category or company name and can contact employers directly.
Faculty are encouraged to use Career Development Services for in-class presentations, including speakers from business and industry, and finding internship leads through the free ccjobnet.
