Why study Spanish?

Studying Spanish will open up numerous opportunities for you.  Knowing Spanish will give you an edge over other employees or other students if you plan to pursue a graduate degree.  Spanish is the easiest language to learn with a number of words similar to English.  You will be able to speak with a population that is growing rapidly.  You can travel to a number of countries around the world and speak with natives there.  Learning a language helps you understand your native language.

Why take Spanish online?

This course is intended for students who cannot commit to the regularly scheduled class meetings of a traditional Spanish course.  The course still requires a large amount of time throughout the week to properly learn the course materials.

How is Spanish online different from traditional Spanish classes?

Spanish online will utilize a number of virtual resources.  Students will be asked to participate in online discussions via discussion boards, partner chat sessions to practice speaking Spanish, practice activities using online workbooks as well as use additional audio and visual components to help learn the language.

Am I a good candidate for taking online classes?

Online classes are not easier than traditional classes.  To determine if you are a good candidate for this class, please refer to http://www.ion.uillinois.edu/resources/tutorials/pedagogy/StudentProfile.asp
