The chemist is concerned with the application of scientific principles to practical problems. Employment opportunities for chemists include theoretical research activities, and problem-solving in management, marketing, and production. Bachelor’s programs in chemistry are built on an in-depth foundation of sequential courses in science and math, while upper division courses provide the preparation necessary for graduate studies and/or work in industry. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the associate in science degree prior to transfer.
