Full-Time, Tenure-Track Faculty Openings

Assistant Professor/Coordinator of Industrial Electricity

Description of Position: The Industrial Electricity Department has one full-time faculty member who is both an instructor and the coordinator of the program.  The person must be able to teach a variety of courses, maintain the lab and equipment, and continue to keep the program up-to-date meeting industry standards.   More specifically;

  • Teach courses in the Industrial Electricity program.  Courses include; Electric Wiring, Fundamentals of Electricity, Alternating Current, AC and DC Motors, Electrical Controls for Machines, Electronic Principles, Electrical Safety, Digital and Instrumentation Fundamentals, PLCs, etc.
  • Coordinate the Industrial Electricity Program including; hire adjunct faculty, mentor adjunct faculty, conduct outcome assessments, maintain labs and equipment, advise on course scheduling, monitor program budget, market the program, work with the community advisory committee, supervise lab assistants, etc.
Deadline: Please have all  materials submitted by Thursday; November 13th. Position will remain open until filled.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. (Candidates with an Associate Degree in Industrial Electricity will be given consideration if they possess at least seven years of related work experience.
  2. Three (3) years of successful work experience in the electrical field.
  3. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  4. Computer competency

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Teaching experience in a community college setting.
  2. Experience working with students from a wide variety of backgrounds and ages.
  3. Masters degree or coursework beyond the Bachelor’s level.
  4. Active involvement in community activities.
  5. Active participation in professional societies.
  6. Demonstrated leadership roles in a professional setting.
