Mark A. Fazzini, ChairBoard member since 1993, Mr. Fazzini has served as Board Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary of the Board during his tenure. He is also a member of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) and has served as an ACCT Director from 1996 to 2003 and on several committees.
A resident of Homewood, Mr. Fazzini is on the village's Planning Commission. He earned his A.A. degree from Prairie State College before going on to Chicago State University, where he earned both B.S. and M.S. degrees. Currently, he is chief of the Police Department of the College of DuPage and was formerly chief of the Olympia Fields Police Department.
Kathleen M. Doyle, Vice Chair Ms. Doyle, a resident of Chicago Heights, took her seat on the Board in November 2003. She is the Director of Education for the South Cook Intermediate Service Center, which serves the 66 school districts in the south suburbs. She also serves as the Regional Reading First coordinator.
She holds an Ed.D in Educational Administration and Leadership from National Louis University, an M.S. in Reading Education from Chicago State University and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Illinois State University. She serves on the board of the South Suburban Reading Council and on the Illinois State Board of Education's Reading First Steering Committee.
Jacqueline Agee, SecretaryJacqueline Agee, a resident of Chicago Heights, took her seat on the Board in May of 2007. Ms. Agee is an attorney and specializes in municipal law. She was formerly a police officer for the City of Chicago Heights.
A graduate of Moraine Valley Community College, Ms. Agee earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Illinois State University and a Juris Doctorate from The John Marshall Law School. She is a member of the South Suburban Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. Other community service includes volunteering with Eastern Will County Senior Services and previously serving as a state and local board member of The Police Benevolent & Protective Association of Illinois.
Peg Donohue, ICCTA Representative and PSC Foundation Representative Ms. Donohue was elected to the Board in April 2005 to serve as trustee until 2011. Currently she serves as the Board's representative to the Illinois Community College Trustees Association (ICCTA) and the PSC Foundation. She is a retired administrator from Governors State University; previously she was the executive director of the South Metropolitan Higher Education Consortium and director of Community College Relations at GSU.
A resident of Park Forest, Ms. Donohue is a trustee on that village's
Library Board and a member of the Economic Advisory Committee.
She also serves on the boards of South Suburban Family Shelter
and the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra. She attended Prairie
State College as a returning adult student and holds a B.A. degree
and a master's degree in Communication Studies from GSU.
Phil FasoA Board member since 2007, Phil Faso is a resident of Homewood. He has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from St. Joseph's College. Mr. Faso is a partner in Faso Excavating.
Mary Lee Johnson, ACCT Representative Ms. Johnson, a resident of Crete, was first elected to the Board in 1997 and has served as Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary. She currently serves as the Board's representative to the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT). A licensed clinical professional counselor, Ms. Johnson is a mental health crisis therapist at Grand Prairie Services. Ms. Johnson is also co-owner of Women's Empowerment Events, Inc.
Her community involvement revolves around her desire to empower people and her interest in diversity and women's issues. She is active in Catholic Schools Opposing Racism (COR) and the National Conference for Community & Justice, an organization that builds bridges across racial and cultural boundaries. A past board member of the Unity Coalition, she currently serves on the recuitment committee for Diversity Dinners. Ms. Johnson holds an A.A. degree from Waubonsee Community College as well as B.A. and M.A. degrees from Governors State University.
John
J. Marks A resident of Homewood, John Marks was elected in April 2003 to fill two years remaining in the unexpired term of a resigned Board member. In 2005 he was elected to a full six-year term.
Mr. Marks has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma University and holds the professional designation of Certified Insurance Counselor. He previously served a four-year term on the Bloom Township High School District 206 Board of Education and also served 12 years as a Bloom Township Trustee of Schools. Other community service includes membership in the Chicago Heights Lions Club. Mr. Marks is president of Marks & Company, an insurance firm.
Favian ApataEach year a Student Trustee is elected by the PSC student body to sit on the Board and provide an advisory vote. Favian Apata is the Student Trustee for 2008-2009 academic year. A resident of Chicago Heights, she is pursing an associate's degree to transfer to a four-year university to major in Sociology. Ms. Apata is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and was a member of the College's Forensics Team, winning a national championship medal in Prose Interpretation.
