Transfer Student - Checklist

Thinking of transferring to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a four-year college or university? Use this as a guide.

Semester One:

• Meet with an advisor from PSC’s counseling and academic advising team
• Choose your major for your future bachelor’s degree
• Visit with four-year college and university admissions representatives when they are on PSC’s campus
• Attend college fairs at PSC
• Create a list of your top 3 – 4 colleges to focus your research

Semester Two:

• Meet with an advisor from PSC’s counseling and academic advising team
• Make individual visits to the colleges or universities of your choice
• Research the colleges of your choice using the library of resources in Counseling & Academic Advising
• Begin searching for future scholarships

Semester Three:

• Meet with an advisor from PSC’s counseling and academic advising team
• Apply for admission with the colleges of your choice

Semester Four:

• Meet with an advisor from PSC’s counseling and academic advising team
• Confirm acceptance with next college
• Apply for graduation from PSC
• Request an official evaluation of transfer credits
