Truck Driver Training Program Highlights
The Prairie State College (PSC) Truck Driver Training (TDT) Program is designed to provide the highest quality training, in the shortest time possible, to get you down the road to your future career. In the classroom, you will be introduced to the operating rules and regulations that govern trucking operations. Hands-on training will guide you through learning safe operating practices in all phases of handling a truck tractor semi-trailer combination vehicle. Additionally, this program will prepare you for the State of Illinois CDL test and job placement in the over-the-road trucking industry.
The prospective student may choose to attend either a 4-week day class that meets Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or an 8-week night class that meets Monday through Friday from 6 - 10 p.m.
The TDT Program is recognized by many trucking companies. Prospective students may find placement with these companies or elect to hire on with any company of their choosing. The over-the-road segment of the trucking industry is always looking for drivers to fill open positions. Graduates of the PSC-TDT program should expect to go to work immediately.
Students may register for class at any time. Keep in mind that class size is limited to allow students the maximum learning experience. Classes begin monthly. Call for exact dates and make an appointment to register.
