LOCKHART PUTS CLAMPS ON FIRST REGION IV HONOR
The Prairie State College Athletic Department was pleased to recently learn that sophomore shooting guard Chris Lockhart (Leo H.S.) of the men’s basketball team was selected the NJCAA Region IV Player of the Week for the week ending February 5.

The award marks the first time this season that Lockhart has garnered the honor.

Sophomore forward Darius White (Tinley Park H.S.) also earned the honor for the week ending November 13, 2011.

In three games during the course of the week, Lockhart totaled 69 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and five steals.

The 6-foot Lockhart saved his best work for the Pioneers’ 72-71 win over Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference foe Oakton on February 4.

In that contest, Lockhart poured in a game-high 26 points, including four three-pointers, He also pulled down five rebounds, dished out an assist and came away with a steal.

Lockhart also posted a 23-point outing in PSC’s 70-65 win over Lake County (Jan. 31) and another 20 in the Pioneers’ February 2 contest against Waubonsee.

Lockhart is currently averaging 18.9 points per game this season.

LOCKHART NAMED NJCAA REGION IV PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The Prairie State College Athletic Department was pleased to learn Monday that sophomore guard Chris Lockhart (Leo H.S.) was selected the NJCAA Region IV  Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending December 4.

In three games during that stretch, Lockhart delivered 66 points, 15 rebounds, eight steals and six assists.

In back-to-back contests, the 6-foot Lockhart recorded 25 points.

He was also chosen as the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the same stretch.
