How Do I Register for Credit Classes?

I am a new student

I am a transfer student

I am entering college for the first time.
  1. Complete an application to get started with the enrollment process.
    You can obtain an application from Enrollment Services or the Counseling and Academic Advising Center at Prairie State College. You can also complete an application form online.

  2. Take the COMPASS placement test.
    The purpose of assessment testing is to place you in the courses most appropriate to your academic ability. You will not be denied admission to Prairie State College based on your assessment scores; however, you may need to enroll in courses to prepare for higher level courses.


  3. Meet with an academic advisor to discuss COMPASS test results, learn about academic programs, and register for courses.
    Request that your high school and/or previously attended college send official, final transcripts to Enrollment Services at Prairie State College. For more effective advising, it is strongly recommended that the transcripts arrive prior to meeting with an academic advisor.

  4. Pay tuition and fees.
    Please note that registration is not complete until you have made payment arrangements either online or through the Business Office, or have received official notification that you have completed all the steps of the financial aid process. If you were asked to submit additional forms to the Financial Aid Office, please complete those steps and verify that your award is finalized for registration.
I am transferring from another college.
  1. Complete an application to get started with the enrollment process.
    You can obtain an application from Enrollment Services or the Counseling and Academic Advising Center. You can also complete an application form online .

  2. Have your official high school transcript or GED certificate sent.
    Mail or deliver to Enrollment Services.

  3. Have your official college transcript(s) sent.
    Mail or deliver to Enrollment Services, Attn: Credentials Analyst.

  4. Evaluate your transfer credits.
    Along with your welcome letter from PSC, you will receive a Program Evaluation Request form. Follow the directions to complete the form and return it to PSC. Apply online or download additional forms (89KB PDF). During peak season the process takes three weeks, so plan ahead.

  5. If necessary, take COMPASS placement tests.
    It is critical that you complete steps 3 and 4 (send an official copy of your transcript and complete and return the Program Evaluation Request form). Do not take the COMPASS test until your transfer credits have been reviewed and you receive a summary in the mail. Please call the Credentials Analyst at (708) 709-3509 with specific questions about your transfer credits.

  6. Meet with academic advisor to discuss academic programs.

  7. Pay tuition and fees.

Can I Register Online?

Note: Students will not be able to register or drop courses under 100 level through WebAdvisor.

  1. Meet with an academic advisor.
    Discuss your academic program and select your courses.

  2. Register for courses.
    Use WebAdvisor to find the courses most convenient and appropriate for you. Fill out the registration form and register in the Enrollment Services Office or register online via WebAdvisor.

  3. Pay tuition and fees.
    Please note that registration is not complete until you have made payment arrangements either online or through the Business Office, or have received official notification that you have completed all the steps of the financial aid process. If you were asked to submit additional forms to the Financial Aid Office, please complete them and verify that your award is finalized for registration.

  4. Report address and phone number changes.
    Visit the Enrollment Services. ID required.

Yes, if you've completed at least one semester at PSC. Online registration is available. Note: Courses below 100 level and certain programs cannot be registered for online.

  1. You may select your courses from this schedule or from WebAdvisor.

  2. To register, click on WebAdvisor, and then on the log in button at the top of the screen where you will enter your user ID & password. You may now begin to register for your courses. If you cannot remember your user ID & password, follow the prompts located in WebAdvisor →Students → User Account or call the Help Desk at (708) 709-7999 for additional assistance.

  3. To print your schedule, click file, then print.

  4. You can now pay and set up installment plans online with e-Cashier.
